Resting in Him

I went on another solitude retreat this weekend. I had committed to doing it once a quarter - and I am rethinking that might not be enough. I have come to learn the importance of solitude - coupled with silence. Not only is it important for me to be in that space to hear God - but just to get rest. I don't rest. I burn the candle at both ends - but where does that get me?? This weekend I slept for 28 out of the 42 hours I was on my retreat. Does that tell you something? It screams volumes to me! One of the things that they tell you when you arrive at this place for your retreat is that if you need to sleep - sleep. God can minister you just as well in your sleep as He can when you are awake. Rest in Him. So I did. And it was sweet.
